Item 6A - Purchase of Real Estate - 925 Sycamore Street - Expenditure of Funds (pp. 5-24) Resolution authorizing the use of CRA funds to purchase a 0.57 acre parcel of land located at 925 Sycamore Street from Chandan & Neeta Shirvaikar,4719 37th Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada T6L 3V2, in the amount of $13,000 plus closing costs not to exceed $1,500. A current appraisal concludes that the market value of the property on January 16, 2013 was $28,000. The Volusia County Property Appraiser's Office records show a current total value of $69,748 for the property and the most recent qualified sale in March 2012 was $90,000. The purpose of the acquisition is to remove a vacant dilapidated nonconforming 10 unit apartment building and offer the site for redevelopment of three to four single-family lots. Funds available in the Midtown Redevelopment Trust Fund. The acquisition of the property is consistent with the Midtown Redevelopment Plan.

Recommendation: Redevelopment Director recommends adoption of the Resolution.
Action: Motion to adopt the Resolution.
